How it works

How HyreFoundation works

HyreFoundation is free. You read the guides and use the tools, and when you want help you describe what you are seeing in a short form. A person reads it and replies by email. Where we can, we introduce you to local foundation professionals, and no company gets your details until you agree.

What order should I tackle a foundation problem in?

Check whether there is a problem, fix water, buy an independent diagnosis, and only then take bids. Most foundation regret traces back to one sequencing error: taking the diagnosis from the company that would be paid for the cure. If you take nothing else from HyreFoundation, take the order.

  1. Work out whether you have a problem at all. Most cracks mean nothing. Whether a crack is changing matters more than its width or direction. Read which foundation cracks matter and start an elevation log: two readings weeks apart beat any single photo.
  2. Deal with water before concrete. Grading, gutters and downspouts are the most common cause and the cheapest fix. Correcting them sometimes stops the movement and always protects any repair that follows. See foundation drainage and grading.
  3. If real movement is suspected, buy the diagnosis separately. A licensed structural engineer you hire and pay writes a report with an elevation survey, a stated cause and a specified scope, and has no stake in the pier count. See do I need a structural engineer.
  4. Then take bids. Every contractor prices the same report, scope, pier count and assumed depth. Compare line by line, not total against total. Choosing a foundation contractor has the checklist.

Where does HyreFoundation fit?

We are the information layer and, when you want it, the introduction. You tell us what you are seeing and where you are. A person reads it and replies. Where we can, we introduce you to foundation professionals serving your area. Our matching is still being built.

It is free, no company gets your details until you agree, and you are never obliged to hire anyone. We do not inspect houses, write reports, install piers or waterproof basements, and we do not supervise or warrant anyone who does.

A free inspection is not a second opinion. It can be completely honest and still be a sales visit, because the inspector works for the company that would be paid for the repair. Two free inspections are two sales visits, not two opinions.

What will HyreFoundation never do?

  • Sell your details, or pass them to anyone before you agree.
  • Publish a rating or ranking of foundation companies we cannot back up.
  • Give you a national average price and let you mistake it for a quote. See what drives foundation repair cost.
  • Tell you a crack is serious, or that it is not, from a photo.
  • Manufacture urgency. Foundations move over years, and almost nothing here needs a decision today.

Questions people ask

Is HyreFoundation free to use?
Yes. The site, the twelve tools and the inquiry form cost nothing and commit you to nothing.
Who contacts me after I submit the form?
HyreFoundation contacts you first, by email. No foundation company receives your details until you have agreed to it.
How many companies will call me?
None, unless you say yes. We do not send your phone number to several contractors the moment you press submit. That model is why people dread these sites.
Can you tell me if my foundation is failing?
No. Nobody can answer that from a description or a photo, and a site that claims to is guessing. We help you work out who should look at it and what they should hand you afterward.
What if I am not ready to talk to anyone?
Then do not. Nothing on this site is gated behind the form. The guides, the twelve tools and the sources are open, and a common right answer is to fix a downspout and re-check in six months.
